Enterprise Ireland Lends Its Support To Transit9’s Expansion In Canada

The CUTA conference, hosted in 2024 by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), brought together public transit professionals from across Canada and abroad for engaging presentations, thought-provoking discussions, technical tours, and valuable networking opportunities. The event provided an ideal platform for us to showcase our unique software solutions, which are designed to reduce costs, save time, and facilitate digital decision-making for urban transport companies worldwide.

Transit9 has successfully concluded its participation in the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) Annual Conference and Transit Show, held from November 17 to 20 in Toronto. This marks our second visit to this prestigious event, following a previous visit to Edmonton.

Enterprise Ireland, the Irish government agency responsible for supporting Irish businesses in global markets, played a pivotal role in facilitating our participation. The agency not only suggested and partially funded both trips but also provided comprehensive support in arranging meetings, making introductions, and ensuring that we are well-positioned to expand our footprint in Canada.

Keith MacHale, CEO, expressed his appreciation for the support received:

“Enterprise Ireland’s unwavering support has been instrumental in our efforts to extend our presence in the Canadian market. The 2024 CUTA conference offered invaluable insights into the latest trends and challenges in public transit, and we are eager to explore with both new and existing customers how we can deliver tailored solutions that meet their specific needs.

Attending the CUTA conference has provided an excellent opportunity to connect with industry leaders, government policymakers, and executives from related fields, paving the way for future collaborations and partnerships and, without the support of Enterprise Ireland, this may not have been possible.’

Melissa Clark, Senior Market Advisor for Enterprise Ireland in Canada, highlighted the significance of our participation:

“Facilitating Transit9’s engagement with key stakeholders at the CUTA conference underscores our commitment to promoting innovative Irish companies in Canada. Transit9’s solutions have the potential to significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Canadian transit operations.”

One aspect of Transit9’s transit specific software suite is its Permit Management and Contractor Portal hubs – both of which are currently employed by TransEd on the Edmonton Valley Line LRT. This integrated suite is already providing significant time, cost and compliance returns for the system, staff and passengers.

William Connor, Commercial Director of Transit9, noted:

“The connections we made and the insights we gained at the CUTA conference have been invaluable. We are confident that our innovative software solutions can play a crucial role in advancing public transit systems throughout Canada.”
