Transit9 are proud to announce that their team has been highly commended within the ‘Project of the Year under €50M’ category for making data driven decisioning a reality for Great River City Light Rail (GRCLR) and their light rail system in Parramatta, Sydney.
Nominated within the Technical Innovation of the Year, Supplier of the Year and Project of the Year categories, this product was highly commended by a panel of expert judges as a leading example of how an integrated operations solution can transform light rail operations.
Through their extensive experience from working on similar projects, Transit9 were able to deliver a comprehensive, robust and pro-active solution which will allow GRCLR to optimise their operational efficiency, reduce costs and continuously improve their service delivery to customers.
A standout feature of the project was the bespoke design and delivery of a SIRI-based integration to the platform which would greatly improve passenger communication. Through providing real-time access to accurate information regarding disruptions and service changes with Transport for New South Wales, it enables passengers to receive accurate and timely updates regarding any service disruptions.
The Event Management System (EMS) which was deployed allows for the centralised logging and management of operational events in real time. This central hub consolidates information from a variety of sources, including MMS and SCADA, to ensure that GRCLR have a comprehensive view of their operational health by being able to instantly identify key performance metrics relating to staff, rolling stock and infrastructure. In addition, with both web and mobile accessibility enabled, this system empowers both ground and control room staff to manage and monitor events seamlessly.
‘We are very proud to not only have been highly commended but to also have had this project nominated in no less than three separate award categories. This is a true testament to the dedication of both the Transit9 and GRCLR teams in planning, designing and delivering this forward-thinking project on time and within budget’, said Keith MacHale, CEO of Transit9, ‘We are delighted to have been able to provide GRCLR with a comprehensive and modern solution which enables them to make proactive data-driven decisions to drive real improvements in efficiency and service. This future-ready system will help ensure their ongoing success and we look forward to seeing the system being used to drive real benefits to both them and their passengers when the system enters full service in the very near future.’
